What we can confirm

Code F90 / F91 / F92 / F93 / F94, from the manufacturer's own documentation

A code is only meaningful together with the machine showing it — the same digits mean different things on different equipment.

The code

F90 / F91 / F92 / F93 / F94

Five numbers, one piece of hardware: the little motor and cam that bolt the oven shut for a clean cycle. The control drives it and then waits on a switch to confirm it actually moved, and each of these numbers records a different way that confirmation went wrong — never started, never finished, will not let go. They nearly all turn up the morning after a self-clean, which is the one occasion the mechanism is asked for everything it has. The maker's own instruction is the UNLOCK key first and the breaker second, and on these ovens the on-screen prompt will give you a code to type back.

What it narrows down to

Door Lock Issue. To unlock the oven door, press the UNLOCK key. Once the controls and door are locked, there is no access to any cooking functions. Please reset the range by disconnecting the power to the unit for up to 30 seconds. You can disconnect power by either unplugging the unit or flipping the circuit breaker off and back on.

What else belongs to the ranges

On this make a code belongs to the appliance rather than to a product line. These are the other conditions this machine can display, and the models that can show this one — a display often has more than one thing to say, and the model number decides what any of it costs to put right.

About Range error code F90 / F91 / F92 / F93 / F94

What F90 / F91 / F92 / F93 / F94 means on this make

Five numbers, one piece of hardware: the little motor and cam that bolt the oven shut for a clean cycle. The control drives it and then waits on a switch to confirm it actually moved, and each of these numbers records a different way that confirmation went wrong — never started, never finished, will not let go. They nearly all turn up the morning after a self-clean, which is the one occasion the mechanism is asked for everything it has. The maker's own instruction is the UNLOCK key first and the breaker second, and on these ovens the on-screen prompt will give you a code to type back.

The other ways this one is printed

F90 / F91 / F92 / F93 / F94 · F90 · F91 · F92 · F93 · F94

The same condition is printed differently on different panels of the same make, and every spelling the maker publishes for it is above. Whichever of them you searched for, this is the right page.

Where this appears, and why not to clear it

On the appliance's own display, as a short single code — a letter and a number, or two letters. Nothing alternates and nothing arrives in halves on this make, so what the panel shows is the whole of it. Photograph it before you cut the power. This maker's own answer to most of these is thirty seconds at the breaker, and that is worth following once — but a display that has been cleared has taken the evidence with it, and there is no way to ask the machine for it again.

What to do about it

  1. Press UNLOCK and follow the prompt on the screen — on these ovens it hands you a code to enter back, which is the maker's own route out.
  2. If a self-clean has just run, wait until the cavity is fully cool. The latch will not release while the oven considers itself hot, and that is correct behaviour.
  3. Then thirty seconds at the breaker. This maker states plainly that it clears most false codes in this family, and on a latch failure it is worth trying before anybody is called.
  4. Do not lever the door. The latch is a small motor and a cam, and forcing it turns a part into a door, a hinge and a liner.

Where this goes next

The job this usually becomes is diagnostic visit, and that page carries a starting figure and the reasons that move it. If it turns out to be nothing — and on this make a real share of these are modes, reminders and settings rather than problems — the visit ends there and you pay the diagnostic and nothing else, or call (305) 912-9018 and describe what the panel is doing before booking anything.
