# Electrolux washer will not fill

### What to do in the next ten minutes

Check both taps are fully open — a quarter-turn valve left at forty-five degrees is enough to cause this. Check hot is on the hot inlet and cold on cold; they are marked on the back panel. If E11 is showing, wait the six minutes out rather than unplugging, because every power cut restarts that clock.

### Why the maker sends this back to the installer

It is unusual for a manufacturer to publish a code whose documented answer is ‘have whoever fitted this check their work’, and this maker does it three times across its washer list. That is worth taking at face value. A front loader is sensitive to fill rate in a way a top loader never was, and an installation that merely works — crossed hoses, a half-open valve, a drain hose at the wrong height — produces codes for years without anything breaking.

The supply hoses are crossed

The maker names this first for E11 and has a separate code for detecting it. A washer fed cold through the hot valve still fills, just too slowly for the timer.

A tap is not fully open

Free to correct and extremely common after anybody has worked behind the machine.

The inlet valve or pressure sensor has failed

The genuine repair at the end of the list, and the one where E35 rather than E11 usually points.

Open both taps fully and look at them

Not by feel. A half-open valve is invisible and conclusive.

Check which hose is on which inlet

Marked on the back panel, and worth checking even on a machine that has been in place for years.

Wait out the six-minute lock

Unplugging restarts it, which is why this symptom has a reputation for lasting an hour.

It starts, it waits, and no water arrives

What it usually means

Two of the three codes here are installation problems

E11 locks the machine for six minutes and unplugging restarts that clock

Crossed hoses fill a washer badly for years without ever failing

### It filled fine yesterday.

Then look at what changed: somebody behind the machine, a plumber in the building, a shut off during maintenance. Supply problems on a front loader appear suddenly for external reasons far more often than valves fail.

### Water runs continuously even with the machine off.

Shut the taps at the wall now. That is E35 territory and the failure mode of ignoring it is a floor.
