# Electrolux oven not heating

### What to do in the next ten minutes

Look for a demo or display indicator on the panel. Turn the oven off at the breaker for forty-five seconds — the maker's own timing, longer than the usual thirty — switch it back on, open the settings menu and check demo mode is off. If you have a pizza mode, confirm the Pizza Shield is in rack position 7.

### Demo mode deserves its own paragraph

It exists so a showroom can demonstrate an oven without heating a shop, and it is a legitimate feature. It reaches kitchens two ways: an appliance bought from a display floor, or a button combination pressed during setup by somebody exploring the panel. The maker documents the escape with a specific timing — forty-five seconds at the breaker, not thirty — and then the settings menu. Every year it costs somebody a service call on an appliance with nothing wrong with it.

The oven is in demo mode

Everything works except the heat. On a newly renovated kitchen this reads as a dead new appliance and it is not.

The temperature sensor is open or shorted

F30 and F31 are the maker's codes. With no valid temperature the control will not heat at all.

The element or its relay has failed

The conventional repair, and on a double oven it affects one cavity rather than both.

Check for demo mode first

Free, quick, and correct far more often than anyone expects.

Watch the element while it is asked to heat

Uneven glow or no glow at all is visible and it is the cheapest answer.

Note whether one cavity or both

On a double oven that distinction halves the diagnosis immediately.

It lights up, it counts down, and it stays cold

What it usually means

Demo mode is free to rule out and it is a genuine cause

F10 on a pizza oven is often an accessory in the wrong rack

On a new kitchen, a cold new oven is very often neither

### It heats but very slowly.

That is not demo mode — demo mode does not heat at all. Slow heating is an element, a relay, or a door that is not sealing, and it is worth booking.

### The broiler works and the bake does not.

Two separate elements and often two separate relays. That is a useful observation and it narrows the part before we arrive.
