# Electrolux washer leak repair

### When in the cycle tells you where

Water during the wash points at the door seal. Water during the pump-out points at the drain hose or its connection. Water all the time points at the inlet fittings. Water from underneath points at the sump or the pump. One observation from the owner narrows this to one of four parts before anybody opens anything — and on a second-story laundry closet it is also the difference between a booking next week and one today.

Wash, spin or drain. That single observation narrows this to one of four parts before anybody opens anything.

Check the gasket fold at the bottom

It holds water and grit, and a small tear in the underside of the fold leaks only when the drum is full.

Tighten and inspect the inlet connections

A washing machine hose that weeps under pressure is dry when the taps are off, which is exactly when people look at it.

### It only leaks sometimes.

Usually a gasket tear on the underside of the fold, which only meets water when the drum is full. It is the one people cannot find because it is invisible with the door open.

### Should I stop using it?

On an upper floor, yes, until we have seen it. On a ground floor with tile you have more room to wait, but not much — these do not stay small.
