### Which half is wrong decides the whole visit

One warm compartment over a cold one means air is not being carried across — a fan, a damper, a duct packed with ice — and that is the inexpensive half of refrigeration. Measure rather than judge by hand

Actual temperatures against the setpoints, in both compartments, over time. A cabinet that feels warm and is holding 38°F has a different problem from one that is at 55°F.

Read the high-temperature alarm history

This maker's cabinets keep the peak temperature reached and show it when the alert is first cleared. That one number is worth more than an hour of guessing, and clearing the alarm twice throws it away.

### How cold should it actually be?

This maker's own recommendation is 37 °F in the fresh-food compartment and 0 °F in the freezer. A cabinet that feels warm and is holding 38 °F has a different problem from one sitting at 55 °F.

### Can I keep using it while I wait?

If the freezer is holding, yes — use that side and keep perishables out of the fresh-food compartment. A loaded cabinet holds temperature better than an empty one.
