# Electrolux oven temperature and calibration

### Consistently wrong is calibration, not failure

If everything comes out the same amount under or over, the oven is heating perfectly and measuring badly. Two things do that: a probe drifting under heat, or a control that has lost the calibration it was given at the factory — which is exactly what this maker's F13 reports. The distinction matters because one is a part and the other is not, and because offsetting a control to hide a drifting probe works only until the probe drifts further.

F13 is the maker's code for the control losing its calibration

On a double oven the two cavities are measured separately

Measure with a thermometer over a full cycle

Not a spot reading. An oven overshooting and settling looks broken in the first ten minutes and is fine at twenty.

Test the sensor's resistance at temperature

A probe drifting under heat is the common cause and it tests fine cold, which is why it gets missed.

Calibrate only after the sensor is proved

Offsetting a control to hide a drifting probe works until the probe drifts further.

### Can I not just set it higher?

You can, and it will work until it does not. An offset hides a sensor that is still moving, and the day it moves again your recipes are wrong in a new way.

### How do you actually measure it?

With a thermometer over a full cycle rather than a spot reading. An oven that overshoots and settles looks broken at ten minutes and is fine at twenty.
