Demo mode accepts every setting and counts down a preheat without heating at all, and it arrives in kitchens on floor models and by a button combination pressed during setup. And on the stone-baked pizza ovens F10 is frequently the Pizza Shield in the wrong rack rather than anything wrong. On a newly renovated kitchen a cold new oven reads as a dead new oven, and very often it is neither.

Rule out demo mode first

Breaker off for forty-five seconds — the maker's own timing, longer than the usual thirty — then the settings menu. On a new kitchen a cold oven reads as a dead oven, and very often is not.

Look at the element while it is asked to heat

A bake element that glows unevenly or not at all is visible, and it is the cheapest answer in this job.

Test the sensor across its range

F30 and F31 are the maker's codes for an open and a shorted probe, and a sensor that reads correctly at room temperature can still be wrong at 350°F.

### How do I get out of demo mode?

Off at the breaker for forty-five seconds — this maker's own timing, and longer than the usual thirty for a reason — then back on, then the settings menu. It costs somebody a call-out every year.

### Only one cavity of my double oven is cold.

Useful, and it halves the diagnosis. The two cavities have separate elements, separate sensors and often separate relays, so one being right says nothing about the other.
