### The door is what allows it to run at all

Three interlock switches have to agree before the unit will start, and they all live in the door. So a door that has dropped, catches, or no longer closes square is not a cosmetic problem — it is either a microwave that will not start or, and this is the reason not to defer it, one that runs while not sealing as it was designed to. On a drop-down door the hinges take the full weight every single time it opens.
