# Electrolux gas burner and igniter repair

### Most of this is free and follows a clean

A burner cap that went back very slightly out of true, or ports that were never fully cleared, account for most of what arrives as a failed igniter. Both are the direct consequence of somebody cleaning the hob, which is why this complaint so often starts the week after. The cap only fits one way, a pin clears the ports properly where a brush moves the debris around, and trying another burner separates one burner from the whole module in seconds.

What this involves

A clicking burner and a silent one are different parts

Cap seating after a clean is a real and frequent cause

Yellow flame is air or ports, and it is worth attending to

Lift the cap and sit it square

It only goes on one way and it is easy to get wrong after cleaning. This is the free answer and it is often the right one.

Clear the ports properly

A pin rather than a brush, and every port. A partly cleared burner lights unevenly and gets blamed on the igniter.

Test the igniter and the switch separately

All burners clicking when one is turned is normal on these. None clicking at all is the module or the switch.

### All the burners click when I turn one on.

That is normal on these. The module fires every igniter and only the burner with gas at it actually lights.

### It lights and goes out after a few seconds.

Different problem. The burner lights and nothing confirms the flame, so the gas is shut off again — that is the flame sensor or the thermocouple rather than the igniter.
