# Electrolux built-in and column access

### The access is the job, and it is quoted as one

A column behind a trim kit, a counter-depth cabinet scribed into an opening, an under-counter unit captured by the countertop above it — none of those can be worked on where they stand. Bringing one out far enough to reach the back is genuine work, sometimes two people, occasionally trim that a joiner fitted. We price it as its own line so you can see what you are paying for rather than find it folded inside a part that cost forty dollars.

What this involves

Trim kits, scribed openings and captured under-counter units

Priced separately so the access is visible rather than buried in a part

Sometimes a two-person job, and we say so when we book it

Establish how the unit was fitted before the visit

Freestanding, trim-kitted, or scribed in. Three different appointments, and the answer is usually visible from a photograph you can send us.

Protect the floor and the joinery first

A column is heavy and the floor it comes out onto is usually the expensive part of the room.

Disconnect water and power properly

The line to a built-in cabinet was often run before the flooring went down, and pulling a unit against a captive line is how a repair becomes a plumbing job.

Put it back to the same line it came out of

A column that goes back a few millimeters proud will not seal its own door, and that is a callback nobody needs.

### Why is this separate from the repair?

Because it is the same work whether the component costs ten dollars or three hundred, and hiding it inside a part price makes the part look absurd. Separating the two is the honest way to quote a built-in appliance.

### Do you damage the kitchen doing this?

Not if it is planned. The floor gets protected first, water and power come off properly, and the unit goes back on exactly the line it came off — a column that returns a few millimeters proud will not seal its own door.
