# Oven signal DEMO MODE

### What the appliance is actually reporting

The oven lights up, accepts every setting, counts down a preheat — and never gets warm. Demo mode is the showroom state, and it exists so a floor model can be operated without heating a shop. It reaches a kitchen two ways: an appliance that came from a display floor, or a button combination pressed by accident during setup. We list it as a code because it costs people a service call every year, and because on a newly renovated kitchen — which is most of this make’s installations — a cold new oven reads as a dead new oven.

### Where this appears, and why not to clear it

On the appliance’s own display, as a short single code — a letter and a number, or two letters. Nothing alternates and nothing arrives in halves on this make, so what the panel shows is the whole of it. Photograph it before you cut the power. This maker’s own answer to most of these is thirty seconds at the breaker, and that is worth following once — but a display that has been cleared has taken the evidence with it, and there is no way to ask the machine for it again.

### What to do about it

- Check the panel for a demo or display indicator before anything else. On most of these it is written on the screen once you know to look.
- Turn the oven off at the breaker, wait forty-five seconds, and switch it back on — the maker’s own timing, and it is longer than the usual thirty for a reason.
- Open the settings menu, scroll to demo mode, and turn it off.
- If the oven still never warms and demo mode is off, it is not this — note that it was ruled out, because it saves the next person repeating it.

### Where this goes next

The job this usually becomes is [diagnostic visit](/services/diagnostic-visit/), and that page carries a starting figure and the reasons that move it. If it turns out to be nothing — and on this make a real share of these are modes, reminders and settings rather than problems — the visit ends there and you pay the diagnostic and nothing else, or call [(305) 912-9018](tel:+13059129018) and describe what the panel is doing before booking anything.

Unit is in Demo Mode. Turn oven off at circuit breaker, wait 45 seconds, turn circuit breaker back on, go to the settings menu on the oven, scroll to demo mode and select/turn off.
