# Electrolux wall ovens

### Three ovens, and the combination is the interesting one

The oven-and-microwave combination is a single tall cabinet holding two appliances with one control. It is popular in kitchens where a run of cabinetry had to do two jobs in one opening, and it is worth knowing before you call that the two halves are independent — a dead microwave above a working oven is one repair, not a dead appliance.

### Access is part of the quote

A wall oven is fitted into a cabinet and usually scribed in. Getting it far enough out to reach the back is a two-person job and sometimes means taking trim off. We say that up front because it is the honest way to quote, and because a company that does not mention it is a company that will mention it once your kitchen is half apart.

### Demo mode deserves the attention

It costs somebody a call-out every year. The maker documents it in its own oven guide with a specific timing — off at the breaker, forty-five seconds, back on, then the settings menu — and it is longer than the usual thirty for a reason. If your oven is new and cold, check this before you book anybody.

We say that up front because it is the honest way to quote, and because a company that does not mention it is a company that will mention it once your kitchen is half apart.

Demo mode deserves the attention

It costs somebody a call-out every year. The maker documents it in its own oven guide with a specific timing — off at the breaker, forty-five seconds, back on, then the settings menu — and it is longer than the usual thirty for a reason. If your oven is new and cold, check this before you book anybody.

### The oven runs but everything cooks wrong by the same amount.

That is calibration, and it has two ordinary causes: the temperature sensor drifting, or the control losing what it was calibrated to. The second is what F13 reports. Either is a part rather than a rebuild, and on a double oven it is worth knowing that the two cavities have separate sensors — one being right does not clear the other.

### It heats but never gets warm, and it is brand new.

Check demo mode before anything else. It is the showroom state — the oven accepts every setting and counts down a preheat without heating — and it reaches kitchens on floor models and by an accidental button combination during setup. The maker's own escape is the breaker for forty-five seconds, then the settings menu. On a newly renovated kitchen a cold new oven reads as a dead new oven, and it very often is not.

### Air Sous Vide has stopped working but the oven still bakes.

It is a controlled low-temperature mode with its own sensing, so it can fail while conventional baking is perfect. That is not a contradiction and it is not a whole-oven failure. It is worth repairing if it is why you bought the oven — and it is the sort of thing people live without for a year before mentioning it.

### The door locked after a clean cycle and will not open.

Press UNLOCK and follow the prompt — these ovens hand you a code to enter back, which is the maker's own route out. If the cavity is still warm, the latch will not release and that is correct behaviour. Do not lever it: the latch is a small motor and a cam, and forcing it turns one part into a door, a hinge and a liner.
